The lessons I offer are inherently therapeutic, can be suited to anyone and help you feel better on many levels.

I can help you to find ease where there is pain, strength where there is weakness and balance in all of your systems. I am experienced in supporting  professional athletes in their training regime and also helping people recover from surgery and injuries. I create a safe environment where your nervous system can unwind and your body can find the space and the strength it needs.

GYROKINESIS® Classes

Gyrokinesis group classes offer seated, accessible movement sequences to get your energy flowing, to help build awareness and to reduce pain & stiffness.  You will learn techniques to decompress your spine, balance your energy, build strength through opposition and soothe your nervous system.

Breathwork will oxygenate and bring balance to your system to enhance overall well being and there will be opportunities to dip into stillness to expand your awareness (meditation). My teaching style draws heavily on inviting you to tune into your senses, somatically experience your whole self and to work towards being embodied and present as we move through various exercises.  You will feel safe throughout the class and will leave feeling refreshed, connected and balanced.

GYROTONIC Expansion System®

The Gyrotonic method uses specialised equipment to support the body to re-learn how to move where it has lost optimal function. Lessons are 1-2-1 and bespoke to the needs of the individual. Biomechanics (knowing how joints move for maximum efficiency) is at the heart of this system. Working with the spine as the centre of it all, exercises work to decompress the spine so it can move optimally. You will learn how to build strength through opposition through all joints (shoulders, hips, spine) to enable utilisation of your full range of motion. Regardless of age or experience, this system will improve joint mobility, build core strength and help you to move with less pain and more freedom.

The Gyrotonic® Pulley Tower is highly adjustable, so it can be tailored to fit each individual. It supports the body to move through increased range of motion without jarring or compression. It is a system that has become widely used by professional golfers, tennis players, dancers and those recovering from major hip, shoulder or back surgery. The alignment and function of the whole body is addressed, so shoulder, neck, hip and back pain can all be greatly relieved through this work. You will find yourself being challenged in new ways and feel great at the end of your session!

Reiki Treatments

Reiki is a Japanese relaxation technique that helps the body come into a deep state of rest that allows the body’s own healing mechanisms to come online. It is a safe modality without any contraindications and can help you shift and heal on many levels: physically, emotionally, mentally, & spiritually.

Treatments are offered 1-2-1 in a relaxing and calm environment.

Pilates

At the start of my career I certified in traditional equipment and mat Pilates. Over the years I have developed a more holistic and playful approach, applying my knowledge to create bespoke sessions for the needs of my clients. Biomechanics and alignment are at the centre of what I offer as well as focus on breathing, elongation of muscles, decompression of joints and building a dynamic core.

Coaching

Coaching sessions include building awareness, posture and alignment, breathwork leading into voice, as well as communication & presentations skills. Combining ideas of all modalities offered above, sessions are tailored to suit your individual needs.  I can help you to simply remember how to walk and breathe if that’s needed (things we usually take for granted, but inevitably someday realise we need help with!).

Biomechanics

In simple terms, this is understanding how a joint works and moves and also how it relates to the rest of the body. This is essential for rehabilitation after surgery or injury and for bringing muscular function back into balance.

Embodiment

A simple way to explain embodiment is the process of dropping down from your thinking mind into your feeling body. You feel embodied when you are in touch with the present moment, fully aware of your senses and not stuck in your head. I think of embodiment as the foundation to everything else that you do.
